Overview

CertainTeed Swiftstart® XL starter shingles are designed specifically for use with CertainTeed Patriot® XL shingles. Rather than cutting expensive field shingles to use as starters, you can save time and money by starting with Swiftstart XL. It's required for use to obtain enhanced warranties and is code-compliant and is available in matching colors to coordinate with Patriot XL shingles.

Sustainability

CertainTeed is committed to creating a circular roofing shingle economy. In February 2023 we acquired Asphaltica recycling technology that lets us reclaim post-industrial and post-consumer shingle scrap. Instead of going to the landfill, the shingles are pelletized and blended into hot mix asphalt. The pellets are water-resistant and can be used in variable climate conditions.
