History

Since 1904 CertainTeed has helped shape the building products industry. Founded as the General Roofing Manufacturing Company, it has evolved into North America’s leading brand of exterior and interior building products. A subsidiary of Saint-Gobain, one of the world’s largest and oldest building products companies, CertainTeed and its affiliates have more than 6,300 employees and more than 60 manufacturing facilities throughout the United States and Canada.

Today, as we have been in the past, and will continue to be in the future, we are committed to the responsible development of sustainable, system-based building solutions. Our Malvern, PA, headquarters itself is a living laboratory that allows us to showcase—and evaluate—the innovative products we offer, and the impact they have in a practical environment.

The adjacent Malvern Innovation Center is the research and development hub for CertainTeed Roofing, Insulation, and Ceilings. The MIC enables us to lead our industry in groundbreaking manufacturing and product innovation.
