It’s been an unprecedented few months since we came together to fight against COVID-19. I hope that regardless of where you are, you are staying healthy and safe. As the crisis evolves, we remain committed to supporting our partners and providing you with useful tools to help you recover strong and better than before.
In this regard, I wanted to update you on the steps we have taken as an organization to help support your recovery, focusing on three key areas:
1. Business continuity: When this crisis began and rules started to change, you asked us to help you understand how to best move forward. We heard you, and over the course of the last several months we have tried to:
a. Provide help and guidance navigating quickly changing government orders so you could open your operations the moment it was safe to do so;
b. Take the lead with timely, crisis-based, business support on our Building Knowledge blog;
c. Develop resources to help independent distributors and contractors maintain business operations despite difficult economic conditions.
2. Market recovery: When business slowed during the height of the crisis, you asked for more training to prepare for recovery. We responded with new courses and resources to help you emerge from the crisis stronger and better positioned than your competition.
3. Agile support: When the new normal emerged and questions and requests started to pile up, we recognized we needed all hands on deck. Whether it was our plants figuring out how to safely get products to our customers, or our customer teams staying in constant contact to help solve problems—we upped our hours and made certain that someone was on the other side to get you the answers you needed. We know that our success is contingent upon your success.
In addition to these efforts, I’m especially proud of how our business has worked to directly impact the communities where our partners and customers live and work. Across the region, we are investing in the areas of greatest need. We have used our non-profit Saint-Gobain Foundation to support four national agencies responding to crises on the front lines. We’ve redeployed production lines to manufacture personal protective equipment, and donated materials to help build modular hospitals.
Now, more than ever, the global community must continue to come together to do their part in the fight against the long term impact of COVID-19. Thank you for your continued support as we begin to turn the corner emerging stronger, and more resilient – together. In the meantime, I hope everyone remains healthy and safe.
Thank you,
Mark Rayfield
