SMARTCOAT™ 650 Silicone Traffic Coat System is comprised of a single-part, 100 percent silicone roof coating with the option to broadcast ceramic roof granules designed to protect walking areas and paths on low-slope roofing systems. SMARTCOAT 650 can be used on coated and liquid applied roof systems as well as granulated BUR/Mod-Bit, granulated APP, concrete, metal, single-ply membranes, and spray polyurethane foam (SPF) systems. SMARTCOAT 650 Traffic Coat forms a high visibility safety border and/or a textured non-slip surface with very high abrasion resistance. When applied properly it will protect the roof surface from damage due to foot traffic. It will also provide a non-slip surface, adding an extra level of safety for personnel walking on the roof surface. Granulation of the surface also makes the system stronger, helps wick off water more quickly, helps discourage birds from landing on the roof, helps in hiding dirt, while maintaining an aesthetically appealing, monolithic roof. SMARTCOAT 650 allows the normal flow of water on the roof surface. It does not block or dam water like roof protection pads and sheets.

Installation
Coverage: 1 gallon per 100 square feet, #11 ceramic granules broadcast to refusal / rejection / saturation for non-slip surface.
1. Clean roof surface thoroughly using SMARTCOAT 100 Roof Wash as needed. Surface must be free of any contamination that may inhibit adhesion. Allow surface to completely dry before coating.
2. If required, prime surface with SMARTCOAT 210 Universal Primer; apply SMARTCOAT 200 Asphalt Bleed Blocker on bituminous surfaces to prevent staining.
3. Mechanically mix before using. Do not thin with solvent or other solutions. Apply only at temperatures between 40ºF and 110ºF and no threat of rain during application window or within 1 hour after application has ended.
4. Apply with short nap or smooth roller, apply to the properly prepared surface at stated coverage rate.
5. If granulating the surface, broadcast CertainTeed Roofing Granules or #11 Ceramic Roofing Granules into wet coating to completely saturate the surface or to refusal or rejection. Allow product to dry for 24 hours for light foot traffic, and at least 72 hours for heavy foot traffic.
6. Clean tools with mineral spirits or paint thinner if coating has dried. If coating is still wet, clean up with warm soapy water.
