CertainTeed Unveils New Products at FenceTech 2018
The CertainTeed Outdoor Living team participated in the American Fence Association’s (AFA) annual FENCETECH conference in Phoenix, Ariz., which was held Feb. 6-9. We displayed our new products at the event, including SimTek®, the newest edition to the CertainTeed Fence Collection, and Brookline, our designer horizontal privacy fence innovation from the Bufftech® line.
With two booths, CertainTeed’s presence was hard to miss. One booth displayed our recently acquired SimTek product line, which pioneered and patented the design of rotationally molded, polyethylene panels. The line includes EcoStone®, a simulated fence system that provides the realistic appearance of stone, and the Ashland™ privacy fence collection, which simulates the appearance of deep-grooved woodgrain panels.
It also touted the new Brookline CertaGrain® Texture horizontal privacy fence. A popular finish for Bufftech privacy fences, CertaGrain delivers the tried and true beauty of wood without the burden of frequent or expensive maintenance.
The other booth helped to showcase our expansive product range, showing off the wide variety of available colors and styles.
The new SimTek fence and Bufftech Brookline fence proved to be a hit, with many dealers stopping by to ask questions and check out the new additions.
“One thing that made this experience different from other trade shows was that everyone seemed to be more engaged with the products being presented,” said Matt Rapposelli, product manager for CertainTeed Outdoor Living. “Everyone had questions or some sort of knowledge of them, and it was nice to engage in conversations with attendees from all over the country.”
This year’s event had a notable turnout with more than 4,300 registered attendees, surpassing last year’s attendance by several hundred people.
In addition to the displays, CertainTeed also had a presence in this year’s fundraiser for the AFA Education Foundation, which awards scholarships to individuals and families in the fence industry. Pat Sadler, CertainTeed product application specialist manager, graciously donated his time (and comfort) to participate in the AFA’s dunk tank, where attendees could make a donation for a shot at sending participants under water. Sadler made it through several rounds untouched before being sent splashing by a lucky attendee’s final throw.
“CertainTeed has supported my efforts over the last 15 years in instructing the PVC fence training class at the annual AFA field training school, so this was a fun way for me to give back to my students in more ways than one,” Sadler said.
When it was time for the booths to come down after an eventful week, Habitat for Humanity offered to take displayed materials as donations for future projects. CertainTeed gladly donated many of the products from our booths.
With fond memories from this year’s event, we find ourselves looking forward to the 2019 FENCETECH show, which will take place in Indianapolis next March.
