What is a QR code?
A QR (or quick response) code is a two-dimensional bar code that you’ve probably seen in magazines, on product packaging, or online.
You can “scan” a QR code with your iPhone, Blackberry or Android phone which allows your mobile device to decode the information embedded into the code which could include:
- A website link or URL
- Personal or company contact information
- An RSS feed or text message
- An email address or calendar event
- Or a physical address & co-ordinates
Many retail companies are already using QR code technology to bridge the lines between the digital world of websites, smart phones, and the physical world of paper based magazines, newspapers, billboards continue to converge.
In addition to being able to read the QR codes that you have seen at CertainTeed tradeshow booths, and soon on product, the CertainTeed QR code reader will read any 2D QR codes you see in your daily life.
Work smarter not harder
QR codes on tradeshow materials, packaging, print ads, and more represent a wealth of information available to you on demand. These codes quickly connect you with vital information such as product videos, web pages, installation instructions, MSDS, without having to type or search.
QR codes are just one way that CertainTeed is looking to simplify the lives of consumers, builders, specifiers, installers, and distributors.
Our goal? Allow you to spend more time dreaming, planning, and building, and less time looking up reference information.
