Restrained Joint
CertainTeed Certa-Lok™ PVC pipe is the industry original non-metallic mechanically restrained joint system. Certa-Lok pipe and couplings provide a restrained joint by utilizing precision-machined grooves on the pipe and in the coupling/integral bell which align when assembled, allowing a spline to be inserted. The result is a fully circumferential restrained joint that locks the pipe and coupling together. A flexible elastomeric seal (O-ring) in the coupling and/or integral bell provides a hydraulic seal.
If needed, Certa-Lok™ restrained joints can be easily disassembled, allowing for system changes, extension, movement or reuse of the entire system.
CertainTeed Certa-Lok™ C900/RJ™ PVC restrained joint pipe is designed for use in municipal water and fire protection systems and is made in cast-iron outside diameters in laying lengths of 20 feet (6m). CertainTeed Certa-Lok™ C900/RJ™ PVC restrained joint pipe meets all performance requirements of AWWA C900.
CertainTeed CertaCom™ PVC pipe features Certa-Lok™ restrained joint system designed for use in electrical and communication conduit systems. CertaCom™ PVC pipe is made in iron pipe size (IPS) outside diameters and meets all performance requirements of NEMA TC-2 and UL 651.
CertainTeed CertaFlo™ Greenline™ PVC pipe features Certa-Lok™, restrained joint system designed for use in gravity sewer systems. CertaFlo™ Greenline™ PVC pipe is made in iron pipe size (IPS) outside diameters and meets all performance requirements of ASTM D2241.
CertainTeed Certa-Lok™ PVC well casing is the industry leading choice for lining as well as monitoring of potable drinking water wells. Certa-Lok™ utilizes CertainTeed’s field-proven restrained joint spline-locking design to form a full strength joint instantly in all weather conditions. It does not require the use of solvents, arc welding or reinforcement screw attachments.
CertainTeed Yelomine™ featuring the Certa-Lok™ Restrained Joint Pipe System and manufactured from a specially formulated PVC compound that contains impact modifiers and UV (Ultraviolet) inhibitors is uniquely designed for the rigorous application environment of the mining industry. These modifiers and inhibitors provide high impact strength over an extended period of time and allow Yelomine™ to be used in above-ground, exposed applications as well as underground or buried applications.
