Measure the insulation currently in your attic.To determine how much insulation you need find the recommended R-Value for your area by visiting www.energystar.gov. Position all the insulation packages throughout the  attic. Starting at the farthest distance from the attic access, put the bag of CertainTeed Shake & Rake insulation on its edge and use a utility knife to cut the bag on the dotted line. The insulation is super expanding and will open quickly. Pick up the bag to shake out all the insulation. Use your rake to push and pull the insulation to open  up the insulation particles. Rake the material to the desired R-Value thickness. Repeat this process with the other packages until the attic is evenly covered. Installation methods and techniques can differ. Coverage may vary.
