Shaftwall Systems
  • One side construction eliminates the need for extensive scaffolding.
  • Rapid and ease of installation reduces overall construction time as well as providing a cost effective system
  • Light weight construction
  • Reduced wall thickness means greater floor area
  • Fire-resistance rating up to three hours

For detailed information, see brochure “ProRoc® Moisture and Mold Resistant Shaftliner Type X with M2Tech® for Gypsum Shaftwall Systems”.

 Area Separation Firewalls

  •  Economical and efficient installation
  • Eliminates the need for extensive scaffolding
  • Lighter weight construction
  • Reduced wall thickness means greater overall floor area
  • Fire-resistance rating up to two hours
  • Excellent sound attenuation qualities

For detailed information, see brochure “ProRoc® Moisture and Mold Resistant Shaftliner Type X with M2Tech®for Area Separation Firewalls”.

ProRoc® Shaftliner with M2Tech® is a1" thick gypsum board with a specially formulated fire resistivenoncombustible core enclosed in a heavymoisture and mold resistant, light violetcolored, 100% recycled paper for use inProRoc® Shaftwall and Area SeparationFirewall systems.

ProRoc® Shaftliner with M2Tech® gypsumboard is designed and engineered for use inconstructing lightweight Shaftwall and Area Separation Firewall assemblies. ProRoc® Shaftliner with M2Tech® gypsum board is UL Classified and ULC Listed in fire resistance designs and features double beveled edges for easy installation.

In addition to its fire resistive properties ProRoc® Shaftliner with M2Tech® gypsum board is also designed and engineered to provide added protection against mold when exposed to incidental or intermittent moisture during and after construction. When tested for mold resistance by an independent lab at the time of manufacturing, ProRoc® Shaftliner with M2Tech® achieved the highest possible score of 10 per ASTM D3273, “Standard Test Method for Resistance to Growth of Mold onthe Surface of Interior Coatings in anEnvironmental Chamber."

CertainTeed is committed to resource conservation:

  • The face and back paper used for our gypsum board consists of 100% recycled paper.
  • Synthetic or “by-product” or DSG gypsum produced from the desulphurization of flue gases at coal-fired power plants is used where sources are available. Currently three manufacturing plants—Carrollton, Kentucky, Moundsville, West Virginia and Toronto, Ontario—use 100% synthetic gypsum.
  • The total recycled content for these synthetic gypsum plants is 96%.
  • In-plant scrap is recycled back into the process.; Our 14 gypsum board manufacturing locations provide regional material coverage throughout North America.
  • Although LEED rating systems do not currently address emissions for all building materials and their effects on indoor air quality, finished CertainTeed gypsum board products have no reportable VOCs and will not affect indoor air quality.
