Composite Decking

If you love spending time outdoors but don’t want to spend your downtime maintaining a wood deck, composite decking may be the answer. Composite decking offers the natural beauty of wood without the maintenance. It looks like wood and feels like wood, yet it offers performance benefits that go far beyond the real thing.

The biggest advantages of composite decking are its durability and low maintenance. It never needs to be painted, stained or treated with a protective coating. Unlike wood, composite decking won’t shrink, rot, warp, crack or harbor insects, so you’ll never have to worry about replacing damaged boards.

Composite decking doesn’t splinter and requires no toxic chemical preservatives, making it a safe option for families with children and pets. Composites are also an eco-friendly decking choice, since they contain a high recycled content that creates sustainability.

From a visual standpoint, it’s getting harder and harder to distinguish between composite decking and a traditional wood deck. Today’s composite decking features natural woodgrain patterns and colors that mimic stained or painted wood.

There are a number of composite decking products on the market today. CertainTeed® offers two high-quality composite decking systems as part of its EverNew® product line.

EverNew® PT
is a premium composite decking product with the innovative PermaTech™ surface. An inorganic, patent-pending technology, PermaTech provides excellent resistance to staining, fading, scratching and mold. Available in six rich colors, including two exotic hardwood tones, EverNew PT is backed by a 20-year performance warranty and an industry-leading 20-year stain and fade warranty. An optional hidden fastener system provides protection from the elements and allows deck planks to be attached directly to joists.

EverNew® 20 composite decking
offers rugged construction and a weatherable low-maintenance design that’s resistant to termites, splinters and decay. The reversible deck planks offer an attractive woodgrain pattern on both sides of the board while reducing cuts and waste. A hidden fastener system is available for easy and secure installation.
