FlintPrime™ SA

CertainTeed FlintPrime SA is a quick-dry, easy to apply, water-based primer used to prepare surfaces and promote adhesion when installing self-adhering roofing membranes such as Flintlastic® SA. FlintPrime SA primer is a ready to use, light-bodied coating that seals pores and creates a sound, adhesion-promoting surface. FlintPrime SA primer is suitable for use over wood, plywood, gypsum board, metal and concrete surfaces.

  • Weight: 8.63 lbs. per gallon
  • Packaging: 3.5-gallon can or 1-gallon pail
  • Coverage: Approx. 1/5 to 1/4 gallon per 100 sq. ft.
  • Color: Blue - dries transparent

CertainTeed FlintPrime SA Asphalt Primer can be applied with a brush, roller or professional airless spray when surface temperatures are between 50°F and 120°F. Work the material to a smooth and even consistency. Avoid excessive build up or puddles of the primer.
