A New Way To Heat An Old Army Post Carlisle, PA Products:
Carlisle Barracks, located in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, is the nation's second oldest army post.  Founded in 1757, it was first used in 1758 for training on Indian fighting.
Now, the historic site is home to the United States Army War College, where senior military officers and civilians come together to prepare for strategic leadership roles.  While Carlisle Barracks continues to see much activity, it's steeped in almost 250 years of rich history and marvelous antiquity.
To preserve its historical grounds and facilities, the college continuously works to modernize many of its buildings and associated systems.  Recently, its antiquated central steam system was slated for an overhaul.
As it stood, the Carlisle Barracks' old central steam system used a traditional boiler and a dated network of pipes that ran beneath the streets and sidewalks.  "It had become a growing concern of college officials," says Gray Sexton, project manager for Co-energy Group LLC of Las Vegas, Nevada.  "The infrastructure was falling apart.  It didn't have much life left."
