ROOFING QUALIFICATIONS

Residential Roofing

SELECT SHINGLE ROOFER™ (SSR)
This is the top level CertainTeed roofing credential, and represents the highest standards of excellence, quality and knowledge in the shingle roofing industry. An SSR has shown extensive knowledge of shingle installation and quality through rigorous testing, and have provided CertainTeed with proof of workers’ compensation and liability insurance. Only an SSR can offer you the highest level of SureStart PLUS™ extended warranty coverage when an Integrity Roof System is installed on your home.

SHINGLEMASTER™ COMPANY (SMC)
Contractors who are focused on superior workmanship and customer satisfaction earn the SMC credential by employing a Master Shingle Applicator qualified workforce or participating in an SMC Credential Course. An SMC can offer you SureStart PLUS extended warranty coverage when an Integrity Roof System is installed on your home.

Commercial Roofing

GOLDEN STAR CONTRACTOR
This contractor installs CertainTeed commercial roofing, has been in business at least five years, and has bonding capability greater than $1 million, or equivalent financial resources and experience. They are authorized to offer no-dollar-limit warranties up to 20 years, including Integrity Maintenance Coverage™.

SILVER STAR CONTRACTOR
This contractor installs CertainTeed commercial roofing, has been in business at least three years, or has had three jobs inspected by CertainTeed that earned a "Perfect Job" rating. They are authorized to offer no-dollar-limit warranties up to 12 years.

3-PERFECT CONTRACTOR
A Golden Star or Silver Star Contractor who installs CertainTeed commercial roofing, and achieved three consecutive “Perfect Job” ratings.

VINYL SIDING QUALIFICATIONS

5-STAR VINYL SIDING AND TRIM CONTRACTOR
CertainTeed's highest vinyl siding and trim credential, a 5-Star Contractor has passed the CertainTeed and Wolverine Vinyl Siding Master Craftsman test and the Restoration Millwork Master Craftsman test in addition to the Vinyl Siding Institute’s Certified Installer course. Those contractors that have achieved this certification have received the highest level on training on our products. In addition, they have provided CertainTeed with proof of workers’ compensation and liability insurance. Only the best and brightest contractors receive this 5-Star Contractor recognition.

CERTAINTEED AND WOLVERINE VINYL SIDING MASTER CRAFTSMAN
A vinyl siding contractor who installs CertainTeed and Wolverine siding, and who has earned the title of Building Solutions® Master Craftsman by passing the CertainTeed and Wolverine Vinyl Siding Master Craftsman written test. CertainTeed Master Craftsmen have demonstrated their commitment to their profession by studying installation techniques in order to better serve their customers and industry.

FIBER CEMENT SIDING QUALIFICATIONS

WEATHERBOARDS™ FIBERCEMENT SIDING MASTER CRAFTSMAN
A fibercement siding contractor who installs CertainTeed WeatherBoards™ siding, and who has earned the title of Building Solutions® Master Craftsman by passing the WeatherBoards FiberCement Siding Master Craftsman written test. WeatherBoards Master Craftsmen have demonstrated their commitment to their profession by studying installation techniques in order to better serve their customers and industry.

WINDOWS QUALIFICATIONS

WINDOW MASTER CRAFTSMAN™
A window contractor who installs CertainTeed windows, and who has earned a Building Solutions® Master Craftsman certificate through a comprehensive education program, and by passing rigorous written tests.

INSULATION QUALIFICATIONS

OPTIMA/BIBS CONTRACTOR
An insulation contractor who has been licensed and trained by Ark-Seal, Inc. International and CertainTeed to install OPTIMA® or InsulSafe® 4 loose fill insulation with the Blow-In-Blanket® System into a wall cavity or other closed cavity applications.

CERTIFIED CONTRACTOR
An insulation contractor who has been certified by the National Association of Home Builders Research Center (NAHB-RC) and complies with ISO 9000 Quality Assurance Standards.

INSULATION CONTRACTOR
An insulation contractor who installs CertainTeed insulation in homes and commercial buildings.

EVERNEW® MASTER CRAFTSMAN
A railing & deck contractor who installs CertainTeed EverNew® railing & deck, and who has earned the title of Building Solutions® Master Craftsman by passing two or more advanced, product specific CertainTeed Building Soutions® education programs.

5-STAR VINYL SIDING AND MILLWORK CONTRACTOR
